Attakapas Trade Day is happening now in St. Martinville.
In celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Olivier Plantation Home, a variety of traditional craftsmen will be showcasing their skills throughout the day including Dutch oven cooking, soap making, spinning/weaving , blacksmithing and many others.
More than fifty local craft vendors will be selling unique handmade goods. Representatives of the Attakapas tribe will be on-site with displays and demonstrations pertaining to Attakapas lifestyles and traditions.
Standard entrance fees of $4 per person (ages 13-61) apply.
The event will be held at the Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site, 1200 N. Main Street.
