The Houston Museum of Natural Science is having an event which will be of interest to Native Americans on Saturday, October 17 at the museum in Houston. Native American tribes are invited to attend and put up displays concerning the tribes and their activities. Native American artists are also encouraged to attend and display their art. The event is all day long.
Houston Museum of Natural Science is a world class museum which hosts more than a million visitors each year. Thousands of people attend these events. The museum is located in Houston’s museum district near Herrmann Park and a number of other museums. It is a large museum which covers several blocks and is multi storied. Science subjects are highlighted in various halls. The Hall of the Americas features Native American cultures. It is curated by the curator of Anthropology, Dr. Dirk Von Teutenhaut. The event is a collaboration of the Houston Museum and Rice University. Last year the event was attended by many of the professional archeologists in the area as well as people from Rice University. Texas A&M University, Sam Houston State University and others.
