photoJanice Ryder Shuff, panther band council member, spoke at a program titled “Voices Long Gone” held by the Anahuac Chambers of Commerce Historical Commission. At the event, there were about 8 stations set up in the Anahuac cemetery where people stood dressed up as Anahuac pioneers. Each told the story of their life and death. A small group of visitors were led from station to station by members of the local National Junior Honor Society. Approximately 150 visitors came out in addition to the junior high students. Sheryl Shaw, Chairman of the Anahuac Chambers of Commerce Historical Commission, believes that those in attendance were exposed to a great amount of history. She also praised Shuff on a job well done.
