It is with deepest sympathy that I sadly inform you all about the passing of Ms. Janice Shuff Little Sparrow. Ms. Janice passed away on the morning of May 27. I was devastated to hear about this from her daughter Tammy as this was an unexpected lost. Please keep Tammy and their entire family lifted up in prayer. When it came to tribe matters, Ms. Janice was one of the most dedicated people that I knew. She could always be counted on to go above and beyond and met every expectation to share our culture and history with others. She was such a beautiful person both inside and out and she will be dearly missed by our tribe as well as members of her community. This is a huge lost for the Atakapa-Ishak nation especially in the Southeast Texas area. I know that God’s angels carried her home. I pray that our Creator continues to bless our people in her honor. Thank you all in advance for your prayers for her lovely family.
