Congratulations are in order for Shawn Michael Jude Papillion, Shaman of the Atakapa-Ishak tribe. Shawn’s daughter, Maaliyah Papillion, was recently crowned Miss Louisiana. The Lake Charles native is a student at McNeese State University where she is studying Psychology with a minor in Biology. After touring Louisiana, she will head to Las Vegas this summer to compete in the Miss USA pageant.
